HEALTH AND WELLNESS
Once a year, the Muslims are given a chance to fast for one month. I personally think this is related to my personal health awareness. By allowing my digestive system to rest from eating, helps my body to recover from sickness because the type of food entered to the body is selected carefully. I think that this activity I am doing for a month helps my body from eating unnecessary food. After I think about it, I survived fasting for more than 6 hours; this proves that the excessive eating not in the Ramadhan month is not really necessary. This month’s purpose is for us to eat what we need, just as enough for the body, and refrain eating what we want that isn’t always necessary.
This practiced my mind and soul to not become too attached to the worldliness. This is good for me because it helps both my body and my mind. When it is time to break the fast, I remind myself to eating healthy food and abstain from junk food. I lost a few kilograms and felt better because I am removing the unnecessary fat in my body. In my daily diet, now change the way I eat, my portion of rice is usually half the size of my plate. But now I only eat rice a quarter of the size of my plate, vegetables for half the size of my plate and the rest is for others. This helps my physical health because I realized that it is unnecessary to eat too much carbohydrate and should focus more on protein and vegetables.
Usually my work our schedule is once in 2 days. After school I do treadmill for 30 minutes, then do some weightlifting and sit ups. Sometimes I am lazy to follow this schedule but I had to push myself because it gave lots of advantage to my body. The result of my work is my body become fit and I stayed fresher, if I skip exercising, I feel lazy and sometimes dizzy because the blood flows does not flows as fast when I exercise.
